Sandy Journals Part 2
To those in treatment for any number of things (physical or mental health issues, or addiction), the limited mobility the hurricane created was an additional challenge, as people were displaced from their usual health care facilities and the clinics that were able to take them in were pretty strained under the excess. Fortunately supplies or medicine did not run out, at least.
Word Up, the pop-up bookstore centered around Washington Heights, has provided some information about places in the Heights/Inwood/Bronx area where people can seek shelter or drop off donations for those in need.
