Clowny Clown Clown

I haven’t touched my watercolors since the early part of the year, but today I pulled them out to do something cheerful.

This is based on a baby toy I saw a kid playing with on the subway. It was a clown head with a bunch of yarn or something hanging out of the bottom of it, like tentacles. I like clowns precisely because so many people find them disturbing. Interestingly enough, a google image search on “tentacled clown” brings up paintings by John Wayne Gacy and a photo of a harlequin baby, of all things, none of which have tentacles.
