This Warhol statue was taken down recently, though during it’s brief time with us, it was spattered with tomato soup (the Campbell’s cans then stacked in a pyramid at his feet), decked out in a Guy Fawkes mask on May Day, and strewn with flowers and garlands at random intervals.
Fun to see how a quick sketch from memory (I actually drew this strip on the road to Rochester, not on the spot) stacks up against an actual photo of the statue in question. I think I drew him with a wider stance than the statue actually has. Insert “wide stance” joke here. And then insert whatever else.
