When we lived on the first floor, we worked things out with the guys next door to share into their internet. Upstairs though, getting online could be a real crapshoot. “Pickles” explained to us once that the way some of the walls had been arranged to construct rooms in the factory somehow made it difficult for signals from the wireless device in the main room to reach the front area of the building. But as someone who was only interested in his “own insular little world” (to borrow a quote from Dan Clowes’ “Pussey!” ) he was pretty short on helping with solutions, despite his techie-ness. And despite this being a “collective” where people were supposed to all pitch in for the internet (even if they couldn’t always use it.) Anyway, if you want to see some of the photos I spoke of taking in the rain, I made a set of them on Flickr. I’m sure it won’t be long before these things are turned into those glacial-looking glass luxury condos, so enjoy! Enjoy now!
